Introducing our new PSHE Scheme – Opening Young Minds – ‘Lets Talk’ and ‘Careers’

Let’s Talk involves weekly lessons focusing around the following topics:

• Building Resilience
• Respectful Relationships
• Mental Wellbeing
• Health Education
• Caring Friendships
• Wider World

In term 6 this also includes the statutory Sex and Relationships Education (SRE). More information will be provided about these sessions later in the year.

The Let’s Talk sessions include learning emotional vocabulary from the ‘Being Human’ dictionary. This allows pupils to widen their ability to express how they and others are feeling. Each session also includes discussing scenarios based on the lesson focus and then spending time reflecting on their learning and experiences in their very own journals. EYFS and Year 1 have class journals to share their ideas into. Year 2 – Year 6 have their own journals.

Alongside the Let’s Talk sessions, each class will have lessons dedicated to Careers. In these sessions they will explore what it may be like to work in these different sectors as well as thinking about the skills needed.

Throughout the school we will also be following the Golden Challenges!
