Ladybird Class
Welcome to Ladybird Class!
Ladybird Class is our Reception Class.
We believe creating a warm and caring environment for our children starting school is extremely important, where they can build their independence and grow in confidence as they learn.
Our environment is planned to offer a wide range of experiences, where children can extend, test and develop their skills and knowledge. We encourage imagination and curiosity. The children have access to both our inside and outside learning environments.

Our terms value is inquisitive
This term’s value is inquisitive. Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Phonics
In Phonics this term, Ladybirds will be consolidating their recall of phase 2 and 3 grapheme-phoneme correspondences and they will practice using these to decode and read Phase 4 words. We will continue to have our reading practice sessions three times a week and on Fridays, the children will bring their book home to read at home with you. The children will also have a weekly library session where they will be able to choose a reading for pleasure book to bring home to share.
