Christian Distinctiveness
Our Christian Vision:
Religious Education
At Fletching CE Primary School we follow the East Sussex agreed syllabus for RE, ‘A Journey of Discovery’, and plan engaging and inspiring lessons. We ensure pupils learn about a range of religions and they learn about the key events in the Christian Calendar. Our school values tree incorporates our Christian values and these are rooted in verses from the Bible. We have a fortnightly lunchtime club for children, where they can learn more about what it means to follow Jesus through craft activities and chatter. Here are some photos from recent RE units.
Class Reflection Areas
Collective Worship
We enjoy daily collective worship – spending time together to learn about Jesus, sing hymns, listen to Bible readings, pray and reflect. Collective worship usually takes place in the school hall, but can take place in classrooms, as well as in Fletching Parish Church.
Prayer
We pray at different times during the school day and in different places. Prayer allows us time to speak and to listen to God.
Father David Knight
We are blessed to have Father David Knight as our Priest and pupils and staff enjoy spending time with him both in school and in Church. We attend a special services at the church three times a term.
